Update associated parties
When submitting a new company application or updating an existing entity registered in Jersey, you will need to provide details about the individuals and entities connected to that business - these are known as associated parties.

Providing accurate and up-to-date information on associated parties is a legal requirement. It ensures transparency, supports Jersey’s compliance with international standards, and enables us to quickly respond to requests from law enforcement and tax authorities.

Beneficial ownership and control guidance
Please note: This guidance is intended to support your understanding of associated party obligations. It does not replace the law. For full legal definitions and requirements, refer to the Financial Services (Disclosure and Provision of Information) (Jersey) Law 2020 (FS(J)L) and related legislation.
Notify us of changes and keep information up to date
All updates must be made on myRegistry using the update associated parties form.
All changes to beneficial owner, controller and significant person details must be submitted within 21 days of the date of knowledge of the change.
Under the FS(J)L, every company, foundation, incorporated limited partnership, limited liability partnership and separate limited partnership must provide us with up-to-date information on associated parties. Associated parties include beneficial owners, controllers, significant persons and for companies, members.
Limited partnerships are not covered by the FS(J)L but are still required to provide beneficial owner and controller information under the corresponding conditions of their COBO consent.
Local resident companies registered prior to 06 January 2021, do not need to obtain prior approval from the Registry as instructed by the COBO consent. Provided you comply with the requirements of the law, you will be deemed to have complied with the conditions of your COBO consent relating to the provision of beneficial owner and controller information.
Identification requirements
If you are a local resident submitting this form, you must provide proof of identification and address for every new beneficial owner, controller or director you are adding to your entity.

Making changes to your associated parties
The update associated parties submission form on myRegistry allows you to add, amend and remove associated parties.
You can make changes to your associated parties in two ways:
1. Go to your portfolio. Search for and select the entity that requires a change. Select ‘start new submission’ and choose 'update Associated Parties' at the bottom of the list.
or
2. Go to submissions and select ‘start new submission’. Select the ‘update an entity’ tab on the top right-hand side. You can select the entity that requires a change from the list, or alternatively, search for the entity. Then select 'associated parties’ at the bottom of the list.
Save as draft
You can save the submission as a draft and return to ‘your submissions’ at any time.

A nominee director is a person appointed as a director of a company by a nominator. They agree to act on the instructions of that nominator, whether or not under a formal nominee arrangement. You will need to tell us the name of the nominator, where an entity has a nominee director. |

To apply for this, the subject must consider that: (b) there is a serious risk of damage or threat to property as a result of the information being made available for public inspection; or if you consider that: (c) the information relates to a subject who lacks capacity to manage their own affairs; or (d) there are exceptional circumstances that justify the making of the application. |

| Is nominee member? | If the entity intends to issue shares to a person nominated by another person to act as a shareholder. You must also provide the nominator name unless the nominee is registered under the Financial Services (Jersey) Law 1998. |

Tell us about a change, error or inaccuracy within 21 days
You are required to tell us of any change, error or inaccuracy in the information we hold on beneficial owners or controllers and significant persons. All changes must be submitted within 21 days of the date of knowledge of the change.
The entity may commit an offence if we are not informed of any change within 21 days.
The Registrar can strike the entity off the register or cancel the registration of an entity that fails to update us of any change, error or inaccuracy within 21 days.
Update member information
You don’t have to update member information within 21 days, but we recommend keeping it up to date to support your annual confirmation statement submission
