Register a partnership
How to register a limited partnership, limited liability partnership, incorporated limited partnership or a separate limited partnership in myRegistry.
Log in to myRegistry, select 'start new submission' and select 'register partnership' from the list.
Partnership name
You can choose either a reserved name or a proposed name to start your partnership registration.
Reserved name
If you have reserved your partnership name and it has been registered, select 'reserved name' and enter your reserved name / number. If entering the reserved number you must start with 'RN'.
Proposed name
To register a partnership without reserved a name first, select 'proposed name'. Selecting this option will extend the time it takes to process the registration. This will increase the service level time by one working day.
Legal endings for partnerships

You must check if your requested name is available. Type it into the 'requested name' box and click 'check name'. Do not type the legal ending in this box.
Your requested name will need to be reviewed. We cannot guarantee that it will be accepted. You will need to change your proposed name and any documentation containing the proposed name if it is not suitable.
Nature of business
Select from the list, the type of trading activity the partnership will be undertaking.

Significance of name
If your name is similar to an existing entity, give the name, place of registration and connection. Your name may be rejected if we are unaware of a connection. If significance of name is irrelevant enter "n/a".
Partnership details
Total amount to be invested
Provide the total amount and currency of proposed capital to be invested in the partnership.
Registered office address
The registered office address must be an address in Jersey.
Limited life date
If the partnership's declaration specifies that it will exist for a specific term specified, provide the end date or length of the term. If the partnership is to exist for an unlimited duration select 'no'.
Declaration
You must upload a completed and signed copy of the partnership declaration using the 'upload file' function under 'other documentation'.
The forms required for each partnership type are below. An incorporated limited partnership is considered to have a separate legal personality as it is incorporated, unlike a limited partnership or a separate limited partnership.

Associated parties
You need to provide current information on the following associated parties:
- Beneficial owners and controllers.
- Significant persons, who are defined under the new legislation as general partners for ILPs and SLPs and partners for LLPs.

Structure
If the structure of the proposed partnership is complex, please upload a structure chart using the upload facility provided.
Activity
You must give us details of the activity of the proposed partnership. You must confirm if the activity will conflict with the Sound Business Policy (SBP).
Sensitive activity
Sensitive activities are listed in table 1 or 2 of the SBP.
If the proposed partnership will undertake an activity in the tables, you must provide as much detail as possible on the activity. You must also tell us if any subsidiaries, affiliates or associated vehicles of the proposed partnership conduct, or will conduct, activities which conflict with the SBP, and provide details. We may request further information if the activity is unclear.
Non-sensitive activity
Non-sensitive activities are those that do not conflict with the SBP. For example, if the partnership is going to hold real estate or conduct a local (non-sensitive) trade.
If the activity of the proposed partnership is not listed in the specified list on the form, select ‘other’ and provide details.
Fees
You will have an opportunity to review all information provided, on the 'review' page, before you submit and pay. The registration fee is non refundable.
There is an initial registration fee and, following the year of registration, an annual confirmation, payable to the JFSC. Limited partnerships do not pay an annual confirmation fee, but pay an annual fee.
