The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has a long-standing commitment to promote the implementation of sound AML/CFT policies and procedures. These policies and procedures are critical in protecting the safety and soundness of banks and the integrity of the international financial system.
The core work of the Basel Committee includes:
exchanging information on developments in the banking sector and financial markets to help identify current or emerging risks for the global financial system
co-ordinating and co-operating with other financial sector standard setters and international bodies, particularly those involved in promoting financial stability.
